image thumb1 Be a Fashionable Mom: Six Ways to Look Great with Maternity Clothes Contrary to what most women think, maternity clothes are not just limited to plain dresses or blouses that make room for bigger bellies. With stylish maternity clothes, you can be fashionable and comfortable at the same time. Here are six tips that will show you how to look great with pregnancy clothes.

1. Bare a little skin. Even if your tummy is bigger, you can still look sexy by flaunting your new curves. It's not a good idea to cover your body in layers of clothes. If you do you will lose the chance to strut your stuff. For most women, pregnancy is the time they can get some cleavage because of enlarged breasts. Take advantage of that change in your body by trying necklines such as V-necks and scoop necks that reveal a little part of your cleavage. Maternity tubes and tanks in different designs and colors are available nowadays.

2. Wear tops that have ruching designs. Ruching is a perfect style for maternity clothes because it makes the fabric fit snuggly with your body as it grows bigger. It makes you look sexy while being pregnant, as it gives an illusion of a trimmed down silhouette.

3. Be experimental with colors. While it is much safer to go for neutral colors such as black, you might run out of style because of limited options. Mix up your neutrals with maternity clothes that have pastel colors. Tanks and shirts in bright colors are perfect for summer, while multi-colored sweaters or cardigans are great for winter or fall.

4. Buy stretchy clothes that fit snuggly around your belly. Although larger outfits may be more practical and comfortable, they may make you look bigger than you really are. You might end up looking more like an overweight than a pregnant woman. So the trick is to wear maternity clothes that emphasize or accentuate your body parts that are not getting bigger such as your arms, neck, shoulders, and legs. Your clothes must hug your figure so that you won't look bigger.

5. Jazz up your clothes with accessories. Your pregnancy will be more enjoyable if you learn to add some d‚cor to your maternity clothes. For example, you can wear beaded necklace or accents on your halter top to make it look more interesting.

6. Wear leggings. Yes, the leggings that used to be the popular fashion item in the ‘80s are back in style! Leggings come in different colors, fabrics, and lengths, so you have many choices.

Fashionable Maternity Clothes

Today's maternity clothes have certainly come a long way from a rather dull piece of clothing in the old years to being part of today's fashion wagon. Gone are the days of frumpy, tent-like clothes in dull colors worn by pregnant women.

Pregnant women today realize there are a variety of styles, colors, shapes, and prices out there. Maternity clothes nowadays can keep a woman's sexiness intact in the clothes she wears, by way of its colors and design.

Goodbye to big voluminous blouses with printed bears on them and pink overalls.

Planning

Before going out there and buying things left and right, sit down first and plan things. List your needs. Begin by listing the most important clothing pieces all the way down to the smallest kerchiefs.

A good idea is to purchase the basics, just as it was when you first bought your regular clothes. Look for pants, skirts, and leggings in neutral colors such as black, brown and gray.

Colors

This is the secret of being able to interchange your clothing and pairing them when you wear them. If you want bright colors, accessorize with scarves and vests.

Accessorize whenever you can. It takes away the attention from anywhere you don't want their eyes to fall. By choosing a lovely pin on your lapel or shoulder, you will draw their attention away from your belly. If you use a scarf, it will bring their eyes up to your face.

For pants you will use in maternity wear, get those with narrow bottoms. You will look taller and thinner. Wear stripes in your clothes vertically so you would not look rounder than you really are with your tummy bump.

Hips and tops

If your hips are wide, do not choose tops that stop at the hips. Choose those that fall past your hips, maybe down to your thighs. That way the attention will be drawn away from that part of your body you find unappealing.

You may have noticed that clothing companies are showing clothes that enhance being pregnant and not hide it. This should make you comfortable as well as up to date.

Wearing fashionable maternity clothes need help from the wearer herself. The only thing to worry is if you are comfortable with what you choose to wear. A pregnant body is a beautiful body.

I am in my 20's and I dress up pretty much everyday. I don't want to wear ugly stuff just because I'm pregnant, and motherhood maternity just ain't cuttin it for me! (sorry) I love the styles at euphoriamaternity.com but they are waaaaaay expensive =(

Like the second answer said I like Kiki Fashions, I hate all the stores b/c they are way to expensive for something I will only be wearing for 5 mths tops!! But Kiki is really good, and they have a store on Ebay (still new stuff) and the stuff is cheaper on there than on the actual site. I feel like Motherhood has nothing cute right now and I don't want to spend 30-40 bucks for something I won't be wearing for to long. I bought a really cute top from Kiki on Ebay for 9.99 plus shipping of course.
